Position Title:Senior Project Manager
Reports To:Vice President of Field Operations
Position Summary:Direct and monitor the progress of construction activities while maintaining safety and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preconstruction activities on large scale projects; scope development, scheduling and estimating.
- Orchestrate a plan from the beginning of construction to completion of the project, including accurately projecting construction activities for scheduling -purposes.
- Interpret drawings, details of drawings, and specifications.
- Achieve objectives through direction of individuals, teams, and sub-contractors.
- Work with senior management, track job progress and job costs.
- Complete daily reports.
- Submit all documentation and pictures as required.
- Direct, coordinate, and facilitate meetings for owners, sub-contractors, architects, and local authorities.
- Manage all punch list items. Insure that all outstanding punch list items for a job are completed on time.
- Effectively use CSI format through the construction process.
- Understand the difference between an offer and an acceptance of a verbal agreement.
- Identify potential sales opportunities and communicate the opportunities to senior management.
- Show positive and courteous verbal skills in all working environments.
- Write effective business letters.
- Provide general estimates for construction materials based on volume, areas, elevations, cubic areas, square foot areas, and framing materials.
- Member of Rockford Construction Superintendent Senior Leadership Committee.
- Mentor new superintendents in proper construction practices.
- Mentor new superintendents in conducting business per Rockford Construction standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to travel.
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- Four or more years experience managing subcontractors.
- Minimum ten years commercial construction superintendent.
- Minimum three years employment with Rockford Construction.
- First Aid/CPR certification required.
- Must complete 10h OSHA training.
- Storm Water Management certification required.
- LEED certification preferred.
- Knowledge of CSI format preferred.
- Fluency with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and other computer software packages.
- Possess understanding of zoning and permitting issues for the localities where company does business.
- Ability to conceptualize the “big picture” from blueprints and construction drawings and translate that vision into a well constructed facility.
- Ability to command respect from customers and subcontractors.
- Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
