Project Details

Rockford Construction began this project for owner Pelican Products of Torrence, California, in January 2007. The private air hangar features several unique elements to its form and function. It was designed and constructed to have enough clearance, entry space, and accommodations to house large private jets. All finishes are very high-end and the facility is highly customized.

The hangar features a 105-foot wide by 28-foot tall sliding double-door that allows private jets enough room to safely maneuver within the hangar for maintenance and storage. Fourteen inches of concrete were poured for the heated interior floor of the hangar. Also included in construction is 3,000 sq. ft. of office space for the pilots and crew as well as a clubroom for the guests.

Pelican air hangar is a highly specialized project in that we must create a space that is very secure, able to support the unique functions of a private jet hangar and look and feel like a first class facility from the moment you walk in. Everything in this building is looked at with a scrutinizing eye so we’re sure that when it is turned over, the owner will be completely satisfied.
