Aquinas College – Student Housing

Summary

Project Details

Rockford Construction built a new student housing building for Aquinas College in accordance with the U.S. Green Building Council’s standards for sustainable construction and design. Several green elements were incorporated into the three-story building’s design including storm water collection systems, on-site rain gardens, and state-of-the-art HVAC and electrical systems to reduce overall campus energy consumption.

The student housing building brought 64 new beds to Aquinas College’s campus. Extensive site and pedestrian safety measures were incorporated into Rockford’s project management plan to ensure public safety. Very limited access routes for construction equipment, deliveries, and materials resulted in timely and closely coordinated delivery and installation schedules, requiring a very efficient work site.

“Rockford did a great job working around tight deadlines and coordinating around the student schedules to make this a welcoming success! It would be our pleasure to recommend Rockford Construction Company to other potential customers based on the high performance Aquinas College encountered on this project. Additionally, please use this apartment building as an example of the quality of student housing that Rockford has built in our community.”
