Thomas M. Cooley Law School – Auburn Hills

Summary

Project Details

After two years in the creation, Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Auburn Hills Campus is complete. Rockford Development Group assisted with all phases of development services, beginning by finding site/building options in the area, allowing Cooley to select the best, most cost effective site for the new campus. The selected building was part of the former Chrysler World Headquarters, a training facility that had been vacant for five years, sitting on 67 wooded acres.

Rockford renovated the existing 65,000 sq. ft. building, which opened to students in 2008. The second phase of the project, a 63,000 sq. ft. addition, was completed in May 2009. The campus features classrooms, of course, but also mock courtrooms, an auditorium, law library, and offices. The Auburn Hills Campus has been built to LEED standards and is seeking certification.

“Based on our past experience with Rockford, we knew they would be the best company to partner with on this project. They understand immovable deadlines. They understand how to closely manage costs. And, they share our commitment to sustainability as well as know how to successfully navigate the LEED certification process.”
