Carson City Hospital – Campus

Project Details

Rockford Construction managed the multi-year renovation of Carson City Hospital. Begun in 2005, the master plan included construction of a new, 19,000 sq. ft. Medical Office Building, an MRI addition, and emergency department (ED) addition.

Another phase included building a main entrance and lobby and renovation of the center of the current hospital to open up its interior space, allowing for better use. Other aspects included renovations to the nuclear medicine, dietary, apothecary, and cardiopulmonary areas of the hospital. The ED addition took place while the hospital remained fully functional. The project required Rockford to maintain strict scheduling, phasing, and indoor air quality to successfully manage the project at this occupied hospital.

In addition to its 13 exam rooms, the new ED addition includes a CT scan area and two new x-ray rooms. The building was constructed to allow for a second floor addition at some point in the future. Provisions were also installed to support the future purchase of Mobile PET Scan technology. Other aspects of the facility include a new ambulance entry, wireless telemetry system (allowing nurses to monitor patient vital signs from their desk) and medical gas systems.

I highly recommend Rockford Construction Company for similar projects regarding hospital new construction and renovation.
