Project Details
The Covenant Fine Arts Center renovation (CFAC) for Calvin College finished fall 2010. The exterior of the building received a facelift around the expanded east lobby, including new windows and arches facing the busy East Beltline, providing passers-by an impressive view of the College and the CFAC.
The 40,000 sq. ft. additions to the existing building house a new art gallery and 240-seat recital hall. The recital hall is a work of art, with exquisite wood panels hand crafted by Rockford General Trades. Throughout the project, Rockford had at least six and sometimes up to 15 quality carpenters at the CFAC project to create the acoustic panels in the recital hall.
The project was topped with a renovation to the main auditorium. The space, which seats more than 1,000, received new HVAC and lighting, fabrics, and hand-crafted acoustical panels.
