Project Details
The former Kindel Furniture factory in urban Grand Rapids found a new purpose this spring. The renovated building now serves as Eastern Floral’s new headquarters, production facility, and distribution center. Set aside within the building is 10,000 sq. ft. for an International Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence, a new non-profit that will specialize in helping women and minorities start their own businesses, and 25,000 sq. ft. for several small businesses to lease.
By having Rockford renovate this building, Eastern Floral’s owner Bing Goei was able to restore an urban landmark, rehabilitate a depressed area, bring several new businesses to the neighborhood, and keep costs in check when compared to demolition/new construction.
