Inner City Christian Federation

Summary

Project Details

Rockford Construction restored this 100-year old historically recognized building, located in the Fairmount Square Neighborhood. The project consisted of demolition to the interior and portions of the exterior, along with a complete renovation to the 30,101 sq. ft. building. Safety measures were taken into account while working within the old, vacant building and Rockford Construction worked closely with the architect to reduce construction waste, recycle extracted material, and re-use materials where ever possible.

The Inner City Christian Federation (ICCF) undertook this restoration to create a new headquarters for their mission and work. The building received gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification by the United States Green Building Council. It also received the Governor’s Award in 2008 for Historic Preservation.

“Rockford President Mike VanGessel confidently said, ‘sure, it can be done and Rockford Construction would be pleased to help.’” Not a single person at Rockford ever defied that commitment. The team was creative, consistent and honest.  Thank you for partnering with ICCF in this extraordinary fashion.  You’re the reason these pillars stand again to enrich civic life in our great city.”
