Since 1994, Rockford Construction has built or remodeled more than 75 gas stations and C-Stop convenience stores for Meijer, Inc. throughout Michigan and the midwest. Rockford Construction and Modern Fire & Security Systems (MFSS) created a partnership as a result of a strong general contractor/subcontractor relationship of more than five years. Meijer 311 marks the first gas station project for the Pride Builders partnership. Work completed for this project includes items such as underground fuel piping systems, data, security, and signage, as well as environmental clean-up for remodels.
Meijer entered the fuel business in 1967 and continue to expand their offerings, such as alternative fuels at select locations. The C-Stop convenience stores offer convenience foods, fresh hot coffee, cold beverages, lottery tickets, ATM machines, and Air/Vac units.
